KPAA MAKING STRIDES TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY UPDATED
Up-to-Date Events, Membership & Mixer Information Will Be Provided Regularly
Killington, VT – The Killington Pico Area Association is striving to increase communication with the public to promote stronger community participation and involvement. As the new year moves into full-swing, the KPAA has a goal of keeping its message universal, accurate and upbeat.
This year’s Vermont Holiday Festival was a massive success. The Killington Grand Resort Hotel ballroom was jam-packed with 85 beautifully decorated trees sponsored by local businesses. Children painted ornaments with Santa’s elves and had the chance to meet the “Big Guy” himself. Free sleigh rides left every 15 minutes and Jack Frost’s Marketplace was bustling. Musical performances by Killington Pre-K, Killington Elementary, Barstow Elementary and Rutland Youth Theatre filled the ballroom Friday night while MOOSE CROSSING, members of Sonic Malfunktion and Oak Totem took the stage on Saturday. The KPAA is proud to announce that a total of 1,497 food items and $500.00 were donated to the Vermont Foodbank following the festival.
The KPAA strives to provide networking opportunities to our community. Members have the option to host monthly mixers, taking place on the first Tuesday of each month. The first mixer of 2017 was held at the Cortina Inn & Resort on January 3rd. KPAA and community members experienced Cortina’s Black Bear Pub for the first time while Patrick Kitchin, General Manager, informed the crowd about the past, present and future of the 96-room resort. “My past year working with the KPAA and Noellen [Neisner, Membership Services Manager,] has been nothing less than great; they’re professional, willing to help us out by promoting our property and events to guests as well as helping us host our first mixer,” Kitchin said. “They made it nearly effortless and I look forward to continuing our relationship!” The next monthly mixer will take place on Tuesday, February 7th at the Killington ART Garage from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and all members of the community are invited!
Mark your calendars, because Friday, January 20th, the Killington Resort is hosting a special KPAA members-only event at the Killington Tubing Park from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. KPAA members are invited for complimentary access to the tubing park, a buffet and cash bar! Send an email to email@example.com if interested.
The KPAA membership base has seen rapid expansion with the addition of 20 new members since July. “Having the opportunity to be a face in our local community is huge,” says new member Heidi Dessert, owner of Hydrate Yoga + SUP. “The KPAA provides my business this valuable tool and presence.” Jessica Fuster, owner of Destinations Found Travel, said as a new member, she “could not be happier. The outpouring of support has been amazing. Noellen is a true asset to the KPAA with her knowledge and willingness to help any way that she can.” Fuster has a featured poster at the Welcome Center as part of her new member benefits. “The team at Boss Office Works, one of the association’s many members, has been a wonderful help with creating new marketing materials for my business. I look forward to meeting the other members and further growing my business.”
